Research Interests

Laboratory Skills

  • Sample preparation of a sample separate from a whole rock sample (i.e., crushing, Wilfley table, heavy liquids, etc.)
  • Prepare and polish sample mounts for zircon fission track analysis
  • Prepare jacketed zircons for (U-Th)/He analysis
  • Pretreatment of samples to remove carbonate and organic cement, fractionation of sample, and solvation saturation to determine clay mineralogy.
  • Skilled X-Ray diffractometer user to determine mineralogy and crystallinity.
  • Conducted rock deformation experiments across the brittle-ductile transition.
  • Constructed 3-dimensional models and retrodeformable cross sections.
